AB-InBev presents Nativa-Meter
Context
In 2022, Colombia lost 4.9 million acres of crops due to the rainy seasons. Rainfalls and even droughts are becoming worst and harder to predict each year, leaving small-scale farmers vulnerable to the effects of climate change and with the uncertainty of how and when to protect their crops.

Solution
Nativa, the beer made from cassava grown by local farmers, along with meteorologists, turned the bottles into rain gauges allowing farmers to take preventive measures days in advance of what could be a heavy storm or severe drought and reduce their vulnerability. By developing a second use of the bottle, we made a tool that was not considered by farmers due to economic, cultural and illiteracy barriers into an easy-to-use, friendlier and more affordable rain gauge.
